Coworking is quickly becoming mainstream as independent workers come together in spaces that encourage collaboration, community, productivity and creativity. It’s also becoming a critical component in the changing face of the global economy. International Coworking Day – August 9th – is the day where thousands of coworking spaces come together to celebrate the communities and connections we’ve made through coworking.
Once again, CoworkingToronto will proudly stand with our international counterparts on August 9th and celebrate coworking through a variety of activities on International Coworking Day. Many spaces will open their doors to the community, and host social events, mentoring sessions and workshops. This year, many spaces are attempting to provide community members with resources and support for more individuals to pursue their entrepreneurial goals.
Here are some events being held by Toronto coworking spaces:
- Shecosystem Coworking + Wellness (703 Bloor St W – Unit 201) is offering an open house from 9am to 5pm on August 9. Members will be sharing their gifts including Reiki by Tasha Jade, business mentorship from Lindsay Johnson and Leyla Razeghi, and a mini-health coaching workshop with Jennifer Gaudette
- Lab T.O. Co-working (231 Wallace Ave., Floor 2) is holding free coworking from 9am to 5pm on August 9, and also holding a drop-in website workshop. In partnership with domain provider Hover, you’ll be able to setup a slick landing page for your business complete with a domain and email address.
- MakeWorks (1139 College St) is offering an entire week of free trials from Aug. 8 to 11 in celebration of International Coworking Day.
